In the midst of tragedy a light shines: there are many attestations by bishops and specifically that of cardinals, such as Cardinal Tauran, who affirm without doubts of any kind the certainty that, in the case of the homicide of the Pakistani minister for minorities, we have before us an evident case of martyrdom for the Faith.This is very beautiful: nothwithstanding the diplomatic conveniences and the political opportunity there is a consensus running through all of the Catholic churches that have news of this act of homicide and all, it appears, do not have any scruples about calling it: martyrdom.

I vescovi del Pakistan vogliono aprire la causa di canonizzazione per martirio del Ministro Shahbaz Bhatti
Nella tragedia una luce: sono tantissime le attestazioni di presuli e perfino cardinali (come il card. Tauran) che affermano senza dubbi di sorta la certezza che, nel caso dell'omicidio del ministro pakistano per le minoranze, siamo davvero davanti ad un caso evidente di martirio per la fede.
Questo è molto bello: nonostante le convenienze diplomatiche e le opportunità politiche c'è un consenso trasversale in tutte le chiese cattoliche che hanno avuto notizia di questo atto omicida, e tutti, sembra, non si fanno scrupolo a chiamarlo: martirio.
