Archbishop Wuerl announced today at the K of C Supreme Convention taking place in Colorado that he intends to confer Archdiocesan status on the new shrine which will be dedicated to Blessed JP II at the site of the current John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, DC, with a view toward eventual designation as the US national shrine in his name.
